What is the Ladli Scheme?
Delhi Government launched the Ladli Scheme in the year 2008. A beautifully built initiative for the girl child by the Department of Women & Children Development of Delhi Union Territory. The motive of the Yojana scheme is to spread Social and economic advancement throughout the country. The girl children are ill-treated, and their stances go unheard. Now, female children can have a voice of their own and take a stand for their betterment.
Benefits of the Scheme
All the girl children in Delhi will benefit from a long-term fixed deposit of Rs 11000. This money will help them in building a brighter future for themselves. Moreover, they can secure their dream and study in a well-renowned school and institute. Even traveling abroad is possible if they wish to study at a foreign university. All these benefits will help them live a good life in the future.
Here is how the benefits will be distributed to the girl child:
- Students born in nursing homes or hospitals in the NCT of Delhi will receive INR 11000.
- While the females born outside the nursing homes or hospitals will receive INR 10000.
- Those admitted in classes 1,5, 9, 12, or 10th will get INR 5000.
Eligibility Critera for the Ladli Scheme
Below are the given eligibility criteria to follow while enrolling the girl child in this scheme.
- The female children must be residents of India and born in Delhi.
- Candidates must be bona fide residents of the National Union Territory for at least three years before the application date.
- The annual income of the family must not exceed the limit of 100000 per annum.
- The girl child should be born on or before 1 January 2008 are eligible.
- A birth certificate of the female child should state the birth certificate issued by the Registrar of Delhi.
- The girl child should be studying in Classes 1,5, 9, 10th or 12th Standard.
- She must be in the academic year 2008-09 and so on.
- Students must be currently studying at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), or any Government-recognized school or college in Delhi.
Rules and Regulations to be followed:
Those parents who wish to enroll their daughters under this scheme must follow some rules and regulations set across by the Delhi Government.
- The guardian or the parents will be held responsible for collecting and claiming the periodical fixed deposits.
- Report cards, admission certificates, attendance from the government school, NDMC, or MCD.
- As mentioned earlier, the deposit will be issued only in the name of the girl’s child.
- Parents can claim the money after the girl’s child reaches 18.
- Furthermore, the female student must have passed their 10th Standard.
Documents Required for Applying to the Ladli Scheme
Here is the list of documents that one should follow and keep with them when filling out the online application form.
- A joint photograph of the parents along with their girl child.
- The Delhi Government registrar issues the birth certificate of a female child.
- Admission certificate of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Government recognized school or New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
- Copy of the voter identity card and ration card or any document showcasing the proof of residence.
- The above documents must show at least three years of residence in Delhi.
- Self-declaration of parents’ annual certificate of income issued by the Delhi Government.
