What is the Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme 2024

The Government of India established this scholarship program to offer a scholarship benefit to a single girl child so that she can pursue her postgraduation studies. The goal is to ensure that the girl child receives a top education in our nation. Moreover, the girl child will also become financially independent without burdening their parents. This, in turn, will enable female education and change the attitude of society and families towards them. At the same time, all Indian citizens will learn how essential it is to educate a girl child in small families.

Benefits of the Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme

Under this program, the families of all single girl children can now afford their higher education. The UGC offers scholarships to around 3000 girls and children every year. All the female students will get a financial benefit of Rs 36,200 every month for two years. It applies to all qualified female candidates enrolled in non-professional postgraduate degrees.

Simultaneously, candidates can apply for scholarships besides the Indira Gandhi Single Child Scholarship. This scholarship scheme is on an incentive basis. Likewise, female children will receive a total of 3000 scholarships. After two years, the scholarship will not be extended. So, they can take advantage of the scheme during these two years.
