What is the Aikyashree Scholarship Program 2024?

The Government of West Bengal sponsors the Aikyashree Scholarship Program. This scheme, launched under the West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation, supports deserving students at the school and college levels in West Bengal State. The main aim is to provide the unprivileged, worthy and scholar students to help them pursue their education without any problem.

This Program covers scholarship benefits for all Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, Jains, Muslims and Christians to provide economic help to educate them. Through the WBMDFC Aikyashree Scholarship Portal, Students from 1st to PhD level are all eligible to apply for this scheme.

Benefits of the Aikyashree Scholarship Program

Aikyashree scholarship is meant to provide education loans to mediocre and poor students so they can continue their studies. It will help make all the students financially independent. Moreover, this will also increase the literacy ratio in West Bengal. The Program is designed to train students for various competitive exams. This will help polish their skills and help them upgrade in their studies.

Eligibility Criteria of the Aikyashree Scholarship Program

The eligibility criteria differ as per the education level of the students applying for it. They are as follows:

Pre-Metric level Scholarship for SC/ST students

Eligibility Criteria:

• The candidate must belong to the ST/SC category.
• The student must be studying in classes 9th and 10th.
• The scholarship amount will range from Rs 150 to Rs 750 per month.
• The selected student can even avail of additional benefits of an AD hoc Reward of up to ₹ 1000 per year.

Post-matric level Scholarship for SC/ST and OBC students

• The candidate applying for the scholarship must be studying in Class 11, 12th Graduation and post Graduation.
• The selected students will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 160 to Rs 1200. 
• The scholarship extends support to SC/ST and OBC students.
• The family’s annual income of students applying must not exceed ₹ 1 lakh for OBC,  ₹ 2 Lakh for SC  and ₹ 2.5 Lakh for ST category students.

Hindi Scholarship Scheme

• The scholarship is extended to assist students studying the Hindi language.
• The selected students will receive monthly scholarships of Rs 300 to Rs 1000.
• Students pursuing higher education, undergraduates, postgraduates and research courses such as M.Phil., PhD or M.Lit.

Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scheme

• This scholarship is granted to only female students.
• The female students must have cleared the 12th class from any recognized university.
• The students will get a book grant amount of Rs 2000 per year. Along with that, the students will get Rs 3000 per month.
• Females pursuing Engineering, Medicine and Basic Science are eligible for the scholarship scheme.

Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Program

• The selected students will get financial aid of Rs 8000 per month for all minority students.
• This is a merit-based scholarship for deserving students.
• The scholarship is provided based on academic merit and overall financial need.

Document Required:

The required documents are as follows: Kindly go through the same as all must submit along with the application form.

1. Fees receipt of the currently enrolled course.
2. Domicile certificate of the candidate.
3. Self-certified community documents or certificates.
4. Income certificate of the family.
5. Passport-size photo of the candidate.
6. Bank account details of the applicant.
7. Self-attested certificate of the mark sheet of the previous year.

How to Apply for this Scheme

The eligible students must click the link here to follow the registration process. Once you visit the official website, follow the procedure below.

1. Press the New Registration button.
2. Enter the district of the institute where you are studying.
3. Enter the details promoted by the page, such as the name, guardian details, mobile number, DOB, and bank details, in the form.
4. Click the submit option and proceed.
5. Then, you will be directed to the scheme eligibility section, which includes course name, last exam, percentage, annual income of family, location, and name of the institute with the class you are studying.
6. Submit and proceed again.
7. The password and the username will be generated automatically.
8. Log in using the email ID and password sent to the given email ID.
9. Enter basic details, Academic details and Bank account.
10. Change the password for safety and then press submit.
11. Once you enter all the above details, the final submission will occur.
12. Then, carefully verify the details and take a printout of your application form.
13. Submit the application form to the university concerned and take a photocopy of the documents mentioned above printout along with you.
