About the Program

The National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) program is for postgraduate and research students. This scheme will keep students motivated through their training and research process. Researchers are done in Women & Child Development schemes and programs. The subjects include child guidance and counselling, child rights, child protection, ICDS training, voluntary action, women’s development and child development. The students can continue their Internship during their holidays.

Benefits of the Internship Opportunity at the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development

The National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development Internship will benefit from an internship amount of Rs.5000/- per month for the PhD students. In contrast, the postgraduate students will receive an internship of Rs 2500/- per month. Additionally, a DA/TA of Rs 4,200 will only be provided to interns during fieldwork.

During the Internship, each intern will get a minimum amount of logistic support, such as office space. This office space will be accommodated with facilities such as computer and intercom. Moreover, the Internship will not exceed two months or less than 45 days.

All the remuneration will be payable at the end of the Internship, including local transport and other contingencies. Alternatively, a maximum of 10 internships are offered in the financial year 2024. Four of these ten interns will be placed at the headquarters and two at the regional centre of Bangalore. While the remaining two will be placed in Indore and Guwahati. Additionally

Eligibility Criteria for applying to the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development

  • The student must be a researcher or a PhD student from a recognized research institute.
  • A postgraduate student must be pursuing studies at a renowned university.

Note:

  1. Research scholars will be given first preferences, followed by final-year postgraduate students.
  2. Only students pursuing an institute as part of their postgraduate academics will be eligible to apply for the Internship.

Note:

  • Furthermore, please note that all the applications will be checked appropriately by the Committee, including an Additional Director, a senior faculty member, and a Joint Director.
  • The main offer letter will then be sent to the selected candidates concerning the availability of slots and the Committee’s consent.
  • A Joint and Additional director in specialized Divisions, such as Women’s Development, Public Cooperation, Training, and Child Development and a Regional Director in charge of NIPCCD Regional Centres will supervise all selected interns.

Important Instructions to Follow by the Interns

Below are the rules and regulations the interns must follow before applying for this Internship.

  1. The institute will not be responsible for providing accommodation facilities to any outstation interns.
  2. In case of exceptional circumstances and if any hostel rooms are vacant at the regional and headquarters centre, the institute will provide accommodation with the approval of the Director.
  3. No leave is granted and will be given during the Internship.
  4. Boarding charges of the Hostel must be paid directly to the contractor by the interns.
  5. Candidates will be charged minimum rent.
  6. Without fail, each intern must present a brief report analysis/ research paper at the end of the Internship.
  7. In this report, all the suggestions and observations must be noted.
  8. All the interns will be required to study the functioning of Children’s homes and AWCs during their internship period.
  9. Interns must spend at least 50% of their Internship on fieldwork assignments.
